ARA-------------------------During an election campaign in the Shahpur assembly constituency, RJD MLA Rahul Tiwari praised BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy, calling him a "highly educated and well-adjusted" person. Tiwari also claimed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the BJP is "not promoting good people," citing Rudy's removal from the ministerial post as an example. He cited Rudy's removal as a minister in the Vajpayee government and his removal despite holding independent charge in the Modi government.
Tiwari pointed out that no MP from the Kshatriya community from Bihar has been included in the Union Cabinet, despite this community's overwhelming support for the BJP. He also mentioned the plight of leaders like R.K. Singh, who feel that the BJP is now giving tickets to people who are unworthy of them. According to Tiwari, the "old Bharatiya Janata Party" is no longer there, and "educated and intelligent people" like Rudy understand this very well.
This statement is significant because Rahul Tiwari, a two-time MLA from Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD party, is contesting the Shahpur assembly constituency for the third time on an RJD ticket and praising Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who defeated Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya from the Saran (Chhapra) seat. This statement could cost Rahul Tiwari politically in the future. Meanwhile, the Janshakti Janata Dal leader clearly stated that its impact will be seen on the voting day on November 6th and the results day on November 14th.
It is worth noting that the Saran (Chhapra) seat witnessed a close contest during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP had fielded its MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy again. Lalu Prasad Yadav had tried to recapture the seat through his daughter Rohini Acharya. Both the BJP and RJD candidates worked tirelessly to win. BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy won the high-profile Saran Lok Sabha seat by a mere 13,661 votes. Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter and RJD candidate Rohini Acharya lost the election.
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has already reached Parliament from the Saran Lok Sabha seat. Lalu Prasad Yadav last contested from this seat in 2009, defeating BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy by 50,000 votes. Currently, BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy is the MP from here. In 2014, Rudy defeated Lalu Prasad Yadav's wife Rabri Devi, and in 2019, Rudy defeated Lalu Prasad Yadav's brother-in-law Chandrika Rai. In 2024, Rudy faced Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya. Therefore, it can be understood how important the Chhapra seat is for the Lalu family.
