RESIDENT DOCTORS’S STRIKE ENDS

PATNA------------------------The indefinite strike that was going on for 10 days by the resident doctors of Patna-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in protest against the alleged misbehavior of Shivhar MLA Chetan Anand was withdrawn on Tuesday (August 05, 2025). In a statement issued late in the evening in this matter, the 'Resident Doctors Association' (RDA) said that in view of the wider public interest and our moral responsibility towards the care of patients, our strike will be suspended with immediate effect from today.

The RDA also said that it is satisfied that an FIR has been immediately registered against Chetan Anand and his security guard who allegedly assaulted the resident doctor last week. The statement said, "Postponing the strike does not mean that we have backed down from our demands, but a responsible step has been taken in good faith and in the larger public interest.

The RDA said that most of its major demands have been accepted and action has been taken on them. It said, "We are vigilant and united and we are confident that the administration will fulfill its promises."

Resident doctors were on strike in protest against the alleged arbitrariness of Shivhar MLA Chetan Anand in Patna AIIMS. In a letter written to the Medical Superintendent of AIIMS-Patna, the 'Resident Doctors Association' (RDA) had demanded legal action against Chetan Anand and deployment of security personnel in the hospital premises.

It was alleged that the resident doctors were threatened with death. Let us tell you that Chetan Anand had gone to the hospital with his wife to see an acquaintance. During this time all this happened. A complaint was lodged in the police station by both the parties in this matter.
