RDX THREAT IN EMAIL, PANIC IN GURUDWARA

PATNA--------------------------Takht Shri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib Gurudwara located in Patna, the capital of Bihar, received a threat of blowing up a bomb with RDX through email on Monday afternoon. Immediately after receiving the threat, the Gurudwara Managing Committee informed the higher authorities.

The management informed the District Officer of Patna, Senior SP, Patna City Sub-Divisional Police Officer and Chowk Police Station In-charge. On the instructions of senior police officers, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BOP) inspected the entire premises of the Gurudwara. No suspicious or explosive material was recovered during the investigation.

Sardar Jagjot Singh Shohi, President of the Gurudwara Managing Committee, said that it was written in the email, "There are four RDX-based IEDs in your langar rooms. Immediately evacuate VIPs and employees before the explosion." This email created an atmosphere of panic in the entire Gurudwara premises. Visitors were temporarily barred from entry and everyone was instructed to be cautious for security reasons.

Chowk police station in-charge Manjeet Thakur said that the police is now trying to find out who sent this mail and from where. For now, the administration says that this threat seems to be a fake email and there was no threat of any untoward incident.

The police and the gurudwara management have warned to immediately inform the administration about any suspicious message. This incident made it clear that it is extremely important to maintain security vigilance, especially at religious and public places.
