BHABHUA------------------------Police at the Bhagwanpur police station under the subdivision arrested a female and a male smuggler in separate raids on Tuesday. Police recovered four liters of mahua liquor and 197.5 grams of ganja from them.
In the first raid, police arrested Sanjhari Devi, wife of Virendra Ram, a resident of Kaser, Bhagwanpur police station, with four liters of mahua liquor from Kaser village in the police station area.
In the second raid, police arrested Pankaj Pandey alias Chittaranjan Pandey, son of Jaiprakash Pandey, a resident of Bhagwanpur, with 97.5 grams of ganja near Bhagwanpur Gumti.
Both accused were arrested and sent to Bhabua judicial custody after medical examination at the Bhagwanpur Primary Health Center.
According to police sources, in view of the upcoming 2025 elections, the administration has increased special surveillance on illegal liquor and drug traffickers and is conducting continuous raids.
