Now the citizens of the country will be able to get a new or updated voter ID card (Voter ID Card) within just 15 days. This new system is expected to provide relief to crores of citizens, who used to wait for their voter ID card for a long time. The Election Commission of India has announced that the processes related to voter ID are being digitalized and accelerated. Earlier, where it used to take a month or more to get a new or updated voter ID card, now this entire process. Those who are getting a voter ID for the first time. Now applying for a voter ID card will be easier and faster than ever. Citizens will be able to apply online through the National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) or Voter Helpline App. Apart from this, application can also be made through Booth Level Officer (BLO) through offline medium.

The Election Commission says that this decision is a revolutionary initiative towards making the election process in the country more transparent and accessible to the public. The Commission said that now every applicant will also be given the facility of online tracking of the status of the application. This will avoid any kind of delay or confusion. Apart from this, the Commission is also promoting the e-EPIC (Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card) facility, under which citizens can download digital voter card in their mobile phones and use it when required.
