These things were said by Mrs. Apsara, President of Bihar Women's Commission, while inaugurating the 'Lecture Competition' organized for students on the third day of Hindi Fortnight-cum-Book Chaudas Fair organized by Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan on Wednesday. On this occasion, almost all the students gave their lectures in fluent Hindi on the topic 'My favorite writers', which were highly appreciated by the scholars. Students and book lovers purchased books in large numbers even today. A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among book lovers due to the discounts ranging from ten percent to fifty percent.
Students of Shivam Convent, New Bypass, Patna, Gyan Niketan, Gola Road, Patna, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Vikram, Patna, P N Anglo Secondary School, Naya Tola, Don Bosco Academy, Digha and Baldwin Academy, Dhawalpura, Patna participated in the competition. On this occasion, Vice President of the conference Dr Madhu Verma, Literature Minister Bhagwati Prasad Dwivedi, Organizing Committee Convenor E Ashok Kumar, Premlata Singh Rajput, Krishna Ranjan Singh, Banke Bihari Sao, Dr Nageshwar Prasad Yadav, writer Ashok Kumar Singh, Dr Karuna Peter, teacher Shalu Srivastava, teachers and parents of various schools were present.
Students securing first three positions in the competition will be awarded with medals and certificates along with prize money of one thousand, seven hundred and five hundred rupees respectively, in the closing ceremony of Hindi Pakhwada on 15 September. Each participant will be given a participation certificate. Tomorrow on 4th September, the birth anniversary, memorial honour and poetry conference of the former president of the conference Dr Vishnu Kishore Jha 'Bechan' will be held.
