ARA-------------------------Police has got a big success on Friday night in Shahpur town of Bhojpur. In a joint raid by STF and Bhojpur Police, a large quantity of illegal weapons and bullets including banned AK 47 rifles have been recovered from two different places of Shahpur town. Two criminals have also been arrested from the spot. These include Pankaj Rai alias Satyajit Rai, son of Shailesh Chandra Rai, resident of ward number five of Shahpur town and Ankit Kumar, son of Ayodhya Yadav, resident of ward ten.

One loaded AK-47, one desi single barrel gun, two loaded desi pistols, one desi katta, one desi thornet, one revolver, 76 live cartridges and five magazines have been recovered from their houses. Three mobiles of both have also been seized. However, the reason for both of them keeping a large quantity of illegal weapons including AK 47 is not clear at the moment. At present, the criminal history of both has also not been revealed.

It is being told that Pankaj Rai alias Satyajit Rai is involved in land business. Here, there is a possibility of both of them having connections with some interstate gang. On that basis, the police is investigating the previous criminal record of both. Efforts are being made to get information about the weapons by interrogating both. Bhojpur SP Raj said that on Friday, STF received information about a consignment of a large quantity of illegal weapons including AK 47 rifles in the house of two people in Shahpur Nagar.

After verification of the information, a joint team was formed with STF and Shahpur police station. On the basis of information, the team raided the house of Pankaj Rai, resident of Ward 5 and Ankit Kumar, resident of Ward 10. During that time, an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, 22 bullets of AK 47, two magazines, four magazines of pistol and 35 live cartridges including 13 bullets and a mobile were recovered from Pankaj Rai's house.

At the same time, a country-made pistol loaded with six bullets, a country-made pistol, a revolver, a country-made single barrel gun, a thornet, 35 live cartridges of 0.35 bore and two mobiles were recovered from Ankit Kumar's house. After that both were arrested. The SP said that both are being questioned about the weapons. It is being ascertained what was the intention of keeping the weapon and from where it was brought? Shahpur SHO Kumar Rajni Kant and other police personnel of the police station were involved in the raid.

The consignment of illegal weapons including banned AK 47 from Shahpur city has raised the eyebrows of STF along with Bhojpur Police. In such a situation, the police has now started investigating the AK 47. The arrested criminals are being questioned about it. Along with this, the criminal records of both are also being investigated. The mobiles of both are also being investigated. The help of DIU is being taken in that.

SP Raj said that investigation is being done by questioning both from every angle including purchase and sale. Efforts are also being made to investigate the connections of both through mobiles. For this, all three mobiles of both have also been duly seized. It will be sent to FSL for investigation. Both will also be interrogated by taking them on remand to get detailed information about the recovered weapon and connection.

He said that the help of other agencies will also be taken for the investigation of AK 47. For that, the serial number of AK 47 number SP said that at present no special criminal record of both the arrested accused has been found in the local police station. However, efforts are being made to get information about the criminal records of both by contacting the police of other districts and states. He said that since a banned weapon like AK 47 has been recovered, collection of both from any gang cannot be denied. For this reason, help of other agencies will also be taken for their investigation.
