PATNA------------------------It has been raining continuously in the capital Patna since last night. People have got relief from humidity but problems have also increased. Schools have been closed after continuous rain. Waterlogging has occurred in many areas of Patna. Water has entered many houses. Waterlogging has occurred in Sachival police station.
The rain that has been going on since Sunday night has badly affected the life of common people on Monday. Many private schools in the capital region have been closed. The area around Patna Junction, areas like Adalatganj, Kidwaipuri, Rajendra Nagar and Kankarbagh have knee-deep water on the roads.
The most affected areas include Adalatganj, where rainwater has entered not only the roads but also inside many houses. Local residents said that it rained heavily throughout the night and by morning their household goods got wet. People were forced to lift their furniture, electronic equipment and children's books and keep them up.
Railway passengers also faced a lot of problems due to waterlogging near Patna Junction. Auto and taxi services were affected outside the station and passengers were standing in water for hours waiting for a vehicle. Water has also risen on many tracks, due to which railway operations are getting affected.
The Meteorological Department on Monday issued an 'Orange Alert' for many districts including Patna in Bihar. According to the department, heavy rains are likely to continue on Tuesday as well. Along with this, there is also news of rising water level of river Ganga, due to which the risk of floods has increased in low-lying areas. Apart from Patna, the Meteorological Department has also advised to be cautious in Muzaffarpur, Saran, Vaishali, Buxar, Bhojpur and Gaya.
