ARA-------------------------Bhojpur has been a land of historical, cultural, and heroic valor not only for Bihar but for the entire country. It is this land that gave birth to great freedom fighters like Veer Kunwar Singh, whose saga is still etched in golden letters in India's freedom struggle.

The headquarters of Bhojpur district is the city of Ara, whose name is derived from the Sanskrit word "aranya," meaning forest. This name indicates that in ancient times, the present-day Ara region was covered with dense forests. For centuries, this land has been a place of penance for sages and saints.

According to a popular myth, the ashram of Maharishi Vishwamitra, the guru of Lord Rama, was located in this area. It is said that the area around Ara has been extremely rich in religious, spiritual, and cultural aspects. This is why this region is mentioned in the Vedas, Puranas, and many chapters of Indian history.

Over time, Bhojpur has seen many ups and downs, but its soil has always kept alive the spirit of patriotism, hard work, and social service. Whether it was during the freedom struggle or the building of modern India, Bhojpur has always played a leading role.
