BUXAR-----------------------It's a proud moment for Hemdapur village under Brahmapur block of the district. The talented young man from the village, Gaurav Kumar Pandey, has been selected for the post of Officer (Electrical Engineer) at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). HPCL is a prestigious public sector company under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. Gaurav's achievement has brought a wave of happiness to the village and the district.
Gaurav Kumar Pandey's father, Jitendra Kumar Pandey, works as a Switchboard Attendant in the Rajasthan State Electricity Department (RRVPNL), while his mother, Baby Devi, is a homemaker. Despite limited resources, the family always prioritized education, and the results are evident today.
Gaurav received his primary education up to the fourth grade from the village's secondary school. After that, he completed his studies from 5th to 12th grade at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bharatpur (Rajasthan), and passed his intermediate exams in 2019. For higher education, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, between 2019 and 2023, which is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University.
After graduation, Gaurav prepared for PSU exams for a year. During this time, he also secured admission to M.Tech (Power System Engineering) at IIT Bhubaneswar in 2024. Amidst his studies and preparation, he successfully cleared the HPCL selection process. The selection process included a Computer Based Test (CBT), Group Discussion, and Interview.
Gaurav said that he had also appeared for other engineering-related exams under the central government, but this was his first attempt at HPCL, which proved successful. He attributed his success to his parents and all the people in his life from whom he had the opportunity to learn.
Giving a message to the youth, Gaurav says, "It's difficult to say how many hours I studied every day, but what is important is to study diligently and have faith in your hard work." Gaurav, who achieved this feat at the young age of 23, aims to contribute to the development of the country and also do something good for his native village, Hemdapur, Post Parsia, Brahmapur (Buxar). The people of his village and district have congratulated Gaurav on his success and wished him a bright future.
