ARA------------------------------Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred the increased amount of Rs 1227.27 crore to the accounts of more than 1 crore 11 lakh beneficiaries under the Social Security Pension Scheme through DBT in a state level program organized at 'Sankalp' located at 1 Anne Marg. This program was telecast live in Nagari Pracharini Auditorium, Ara of Bhojpur district. Under the six major social security pension schemes in Bhojpur district, a total amount of ₹ 30.96 crore was sent directly to the accounts of 2,81,043 beneficiaries at the rate of ₹ 1100 per beneficiary for the month of June 2025. During the program, beneficiary Prabhavati Devi of Lodipur village of Koilwar block praised this public welfare initiative of the Chief Minister and shared the benefits received from various schemes of the state government. Panchayati Raj Minister cum In-charge Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta said in his address that earlier the beneficiaries used to get a monthly pension of ₹ 400, which was insufficient in this era of inflation. Accepting the demand of the public and public representatives, the Chief Minister increased it to ₹ 1100, which is a proof of the state government's sensitivity and commitment towards public welfare. Addressing the beneficiaries present in the program, District Magistrate Tanay Sultania gave detailed information about the 6 social security pension schemes run by the state government and also received feedback from the beneficiaries. He said that with the increased pension amount, the elderly, widows and disabled people will now have more ease in living. Pension Mahotsav was organized with enthusiasm in all the revenue villages, panchayats, blocks and Jeevika Gram Sangathans of the district, which created a positive environment of public awareness and participation in the entire district.
On this occasion, Deputy Development Commissioner Gunjan Singh, Additional Collector, Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Social Security Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Disabled, Assistant Director, Social Security, DPO ICDS, In-charge Officer, Development Branch, Deputy Director, ATMA and a large number of pensioners were present.
