FOUR HOUSES GOT SUBMERGED DUE TO SURGE OF GANGA AT JAWAINIA IN BHOJPUR DISTRICT

ARA--------------------------Four houses got submerged in Ganga due to erosion of Ganga in Jawainiya village of Damodarpur Panchayat of Shahpur block of Bhojpur district on Friday afternoon. The affected people include Nanhak Yadav, Lagan Gond, Awadhesh Tiwari and Virendra Pathak. Last year, in the flood, these people's house got submerged in Ganga. The remaining part of their house got submerged in Ganga on Friday. The government has given benefits to these families under the Disaster Management Relief Scheme. Last year, 64 houses got submerged in Ganga due to erosion. Out of which 59 families got benefit. But the remaining five families are still deprived of benefits. The disaster management team reached to take stock of the erosion prevention work of Ganga. During the investigation, the disaster management team said that the ongoing work should be done more properly so that the ongoing erosion can be stopped. Disaster Management Officer Rahul Bhushan gave many necessary guidelines to Shahpur CO Rashmi Sagar to deal with this.

CO Rashmi Sagar It was told that apart from sacks, efforts would be made to stop erosion by using bamboo so that erosion work can be done in a better manner. CO Rashmi Sagar said that the regional administration is fully prepared to deal with the flood. BJP leader Mukteshwar Ojha alias Bhuar Ojha, Arvind Pandey, Bunty Pandey, Vikas Ojha and others arrived to inspect the erosion work and listen to the pain and suffering of the displaced people. BJP leader Mukteshwar Ojha alias Bhuar Ojha said that talks will be held with the government to provide proper benefits to the affected families.
