ARA---------------------------Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, Electoral Roll Observer – cum – Commissioner, Patna Division, Patna inspected various polling stations in Bhojpur district today. In this sequence, he inspected polling station number 325, 326, 327 and 328 under Bihiya block of 198-Shahpur assembly constituency and polling station number 113 and 114 under Jagdishpur block of 197-Jagdishpur assembly constituency. During the inspection, District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Bhojpur, Deputy Development Commissioner, Deputy Election Officer Bhojpur, Electoral Registration Officer-cum-Sub-Divisional Officer Jagdishpur, Land Reforms Sub-Collector Jagdishpur, Block Development Officer Bihiya, Jagdishpur along with supervisors of the concerned polling stations, BLOs, BLAs, local public representatives and applicants were present. On this occasion, the Commissioner obtained information from BLOs, local representatives and voters about the work being done under the special intensive revision. He directed all the BLOs. Directed that no eligible voter should be deprived of registration in the voter list and special care should be taken that the name of an ineligible voter is not added to the voter list.

The Commissioner, Patna Division, requested the local public representatives to ensure that Form-6 is filled by those voters who have completed 18 years of age on July 1, 2025. Also, ensure that the names of newly married women are registered in the electoral list so that they can exercise their voting rights in the upcoming Assembly General Elections 2025.

During the inspection, the records related to the execution of applications received during the claim/objection period were examined. After inspecting the polling stations, Dr. Singh expressed satisfaction with the work being done related to the electoral list in the district.

Following the inspection, a review meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium, Ara Bhojpur, with all Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers regarding the progress of the special intensive revision work. During the review, the District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate, Bhojpur, first informed the Commissioner about the work being carried out under the intensive revision program of the electoral roll being carried out in the district. The Commissioner directed all Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to ensure that applications received for registration, deletion, and amendment during the claim/objection period are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with the rules. It should also be ensured that records of all claims/objections are maintained. Ensure that the names of all eligible voters, especially youth and women, who are missing from the electoral roll are registered in the electoral roll.

Deputy Development Commissioner Bhojpur, District Land Acquisition Officer, Deputy Election Officer Bhojpur, all Electoral Registration Officers, all Sub-Election Officers, all Assistant Electoral Registration Officers-cum-Block Development Officers and other concerned officers were present in the said meeting.
