RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA-------------------------The Election Commission has instructed political parties and their candidates to refrain from commenting on the personal lives of rival parties or their leaders and workers. In particular, they should refrain from criticizing any aspects of their personal lives that are not related to their public activities. The Model Code of Conduct came into effect in Bihar with the announcement of the elections. Assembly elections are being held in two phases in the state. Voting will take place on November 6th and 11th, and counting will take place on November 14th. The election process will be completed by November 16th.

The Election Commission has directed adherence to the Code of Conduct and related guidelines when using AI to create synthetic or artificial videos targeting rival parties and candidates. The Commission stated that the Code of Conduct will also apply to content posted on the internet, including social media. It also advised avoiding criticism based on unverified facts.

The Election Commission stated that social media posts are being closely monitored to ensure the election environment is not tainted. Any violation of these guidelines will be dealt with strictly. It is the Election Commission's responsibility to ensure free and fair elections. All necessary steps will be taken to achieve this.

In fact, during this election season, limits of decorum are often crossed when it comes to personal attacks on opponents. Especially, AI videos or photos are created and made viral on social media. This vitiates the atmosphere, which later leads to violence and counter-violence. The Election Commission has taken this step to avoid such a situation. Recently, a video of PM Narendra Modi and his mother caused a huge political uproar.
