ARA-----------------------------Om Arohanam Sanstha founder, Disha (Government of India) member, Lions Club president and BJP leader Shefali Gupta has started a new initiative to make Jharkhand drug-free. During the darshan of Sri Sri Radha Parthasarathi at ISKCON temple in East of Kailash, Delhi, she formally met ISKCON India's Communication Director Brajendra Nandan Das and discussed in detail about the anti-drug campaign in Jharkhand. On this occasion, Shefali Gupta said that drug addiction does not destroy an individual but the entire family and society. It is our resolve to free Jharkhand from the clutches of drug addiction. With the support of a spiritual organization like ISKCON, this campaign will be more effective and widely successful. She also said that only a drug-free society can lay the foundation of a strong, cultured and healthy society.
It is worth noting that a few days ago, in a big event of ISKCON in Hazaribagh, Shefali Gupta had also pledged from the stage to make Jharkhand drug-free. This meeting with ISKCON in Delhi is a concrete step towards realizing that promise. Brajendra Nandan Das gladly accepted the proposal and said that permanent change in society is possible only through spiritual awakening. ISKCON is running a campaign to free the youth from drug addiction across the world. We will provide all possible support in Jharkhand too.
Under this campaign, a series of special camps, public awareness rallies, dialogues in schools and colleges, spiritual satsangs and motivational lectures will soon be started in the state. Shefali Gupta said that the fight against drug addiction is not only the responsibility of the government but participation of every section of the society is necessary. This is not just a social campaign but a journey of emotional and spiritual awakening. Until the addiction is removed from the mind of the society, permanent change is not possible.
This initiative of Shefali Gupta is being appreciated in social organizations, educationists and political circles. It is believed that this campaign run in collaboration with a global organization like ISKCON will instill a new consciousness in Jharkhand.
