ARA------------------------A fire broke out in a threshing floor near Govardhan Hill in Araila Ward No. 9 of Jagdishpur block, destroying thousands of rupees worth of paddy crops. A chaotic situation ensued at the scene as soon as the fire started. Villagers immediately gathered and, after much effort, managed to control the fire by dousing it with buckets of water.
Upon receiving the information, former block chief and district council member Mohammad Muslim reached the spot. He met with the affected families and informed the Circle Officer about the incident. In the fire, 100 bundles of paddy belonging to Ramji Yadav and 300 bundles belonging to Budha Yadav were burnt to ashes. Mohammad Muslim said that the crops were already affected by continuous rains, and the fire has dealt a double blow to the farmers.
He demanded that the administration provide immediate compensation to both farmers.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Agriculture Coordinator Krishna Kumar and Revenue Officer Ajit Kumar also arrived and assessed the damage.
