RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

PATNA--------------------------Bihar Police has launched a Citizen Service Portal. It was inaugurated by Home Minister Samrat Choudhary at the police headquarters. Through this portal, people will be able to access several services from the comfort of their homes.

Taking a major step towards making police services more accessible, faster, and transparent in Bihar, the state government has launched the ‘Citizen Service Portal’. Home Minister Samrat Choudhary formally inaugurated the portal during a ceremony held at the police headquarters on Saturday. He said that the government's aim is to ensure that the general public no longer has to visit police stations and offices for minor services, but can access all necessary facilities digitally from home.

After the inauguration, the Home Minister stated that this portal is a significant step towards making police services completely digital. This will save citizens time, energy, and money. It will also make policing more accountable, transparent, and accessible to the public. Through this portal, people will be able to avail of several services online, including police verification, e-complaint registration, and lost and found information.

According to officials, the concerned police station will receive an alert as soon as a complaint is registered. If the complaint is found to be valid during the preliminary investigation, an FIR can also be registered based on the online application. The portal has been developed in such a way that the complainant can view the status of their application in real-time, completely eliminating unnecessary visits to police stations.

Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar, ADG Kundan Krishnan, and several other senior officers from the police headquarters were present at the inauguration ceremony. Officials said that this platform will be continuously expanded, and the number of services associated with it will be increased in the future so that the maximum number of government processes can reach citizens directly online. The Citizen Service Portal is being seen as a new chapter in the modernization of policing in Bihar.
