According to reports, the deceased was Nikki Devi, 24, wife of Rohit Rai, a resident of Dullamchak village, under the Sahar police station area.

It is reported that on Tuesday afternoon, Nikki Devi, along with her son Naitik and brother-in-law Ritesh Rai, had gone to Khaira market by bike to buy medicine. While returning, the three men approached the Sun Temple in the garden of Dullamchak village. Armed criminals, already lying in wait, opened fire. Rai was shot in the cheek and died on the spot. His brother-in-law, Ritesh Rai, fled the scene with his nephew, Naitik, abandoning his bike. He somehow managed to escape.

Meanwhile, Piro Subdivision SSP Krishna Kumar Singh stated that police received information that a woman had been shot and killed in Dullamchak village. Following the information, the local police station and I personally arrived. The body was sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Further action will be taken after an FIR has been filed, and the situation in the village is currently peaceful. However, it is unclear who killed the deceased and why. Police are investigating the matter.

Bhojpur SP Raj stated that a woman was shot and killed on Tuesday afternoon in Dullamchak village, under the Chauri police station. Following the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to arrest the accused and investigate the case. Additional police force and a magistrate have been deployed to the village. The accused will be arrested soon.

Meanwhile, the deceased's husband, Rohit Rai, stated that voting took place on November 6th. That night, a political dispute erupted between two parties. Since then, members of the accused party had been waiting for something untoward to happen. He explained that their 9-month-old son, Naitik Kumar, had been unwell for two days. His wife, Nikki Devi, had gone to Sahar with her brother-in-law and their son Naitik to get him treated. The accused had spotted this.

As they were returning, the accused were already hiding in the garden of Dullamchak village in Banswadi. As they arrived, they opened fire on his brother, Ritesh Rai. However, the bullet missed his brother and hit his wife, resulting in her death. Meanwhile, the deceased's husband, Rohit Rai, has accused members of the accused party of shooting and killing his wife due to a dispute over voting.

Meanwhile, upon receiving information about the incident, MLA Vishal Prashant reached the scene and met with the deceased's family to inquire about the incident and console them. Sources indicate that a fight broke out between two groups in Dullamchak village on the morning of November 7th over a voting dispute. Police arrived at the scene and were arresting two people and bringing them to the police station when villagers attacked them. Stones were also pelted during the attack. Approximately half a dozen vehicles, including those belonging to police and local villagers, were damaged, leading to tension in the village.

In light of the tense atmosphere, police had been camping at the Kanpahari school in the police station area since November 7th. However, as the police force withdrew from the scene for the second phase of voting in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, armed criminals are believed to have carried out the incident. It is reported that the deceased was married in 2023. Her husband works in marketing and they have a one-year-old son, Naitik. Following this incident, all the family members of the deceased are inconsolable.
