ARA----------------------------The Agiaon Assembly constituency in Bhojpur district has long been considered a stronghold of the RJD. Politically, this seat has always been a guaranteed victory for the RJD. Ironically, each time, in the name of coalition politics, the RJD cedes this seat to its ally.
This situation raises several questions: When the seat is completely secure, why the compulsion to cede it to the alliance? If the RJD itself does not contest the elections, what will be the role of local leaders and workers?
What message will it send to the workers who have worked hard to strengthen the party that even a winnable seat is snatched away from them? Coalition politics is fine, but consistently awarding secure seats to allies demoralizes the local leadership and weakens the organization.
The politics of Agiaon suggests that the RJD must reconsider its strategy. Otherwise, in the coming times, the anger of the workers may prove harmful for the party.
