ARA-------------------------A major incident has come to light from Ara, Bihar, where a young man arrested on charges of eloping with a girl, just before entering the Mandal Jail, pushed two policemen and escaped with his handcuffs and rope, posing a major challenge for the police. By the time the policemen could understand what had happened, he had gone quite far and disappeared from sight.

The incident occurred when Punit Kumar alias Nirahu, a resident of Parvatpur village under the Piro police station area of ​​Bhojpur district in Bihar, was being taken to the Mandal Jail in Ara after his court appearance. He was being taken out of the prisoner transport vehicle and towards the jail entrance. A ​​PTC (Police Training Centre) officer, Manoj Kumar Yadav, from the Piro police station, and a constable were accompanying him. Just before reaching the main gate of the jail, the accused, Punit Kumar, unexpectedly showed great agility.

He forcefully pushed both the policemen accompanying him, causing them to lose their balance and fall. Taking advantage of this moment, Punit Kumar alias Nirahu quickly fled the scene with his handcuffs and rope. By the time the policemen could recover and understand the situation, he had gone quite far and disappeared from sight.

The absconding accused, Punit Kumar alias Nirahu, was arrested by the Piro police on December 17th. He is facing serious charges of eloping with a graduate student from Parvatpur village. After his arrest, he was produced in court as per judicial procedure. After his court appearance, he was ordered to be sent to the Mandal Jail, after which he was being brought to the Ara jail in a prisoner transport vehicle.

Immediately after the incident, an FIR has been registered against the absconding accused, Punit Kumar alias Nirahu, at the Nagar police station based on the statement of PTC Manoj Kumar Yadav of the Piro police station. The FIR contains a detailed description of the incident and requests the immediate arrest of the accused. The Nagar police, in collaboration with the Piro police, have launched an intensive search operation to apprehend the absconding accused. Other technical assistance, including reviewing CCTV footage, is also being used to locate the accused so that he can be re-arrested as soon as possible.
