ARA-------------------------A new labor law has now come into effect in the country. Yes, the Modi government at the center has taken a new step towards a historic revolution by implementing four new labor codes on Friday. This is considered the biggest change yet. This decision by the Modi government has abolished years-old, complex laws.
The central government has abolished 29 old labor laws and converted them into four codes. They are: the Code on Wages, the Industrial Relations Code, the Code on Social Security, and the Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code.
According to the Department of Labor Resources, the new codes will guarantee better wages, social security, and health care for all workers, especially those in the informal sector, gig workers, migrant laborers, and women. The implementation of these rules will bring about a significant change in the lives of workers.
