SASARAM----------------------------The station house officer of Chenari police station received a tip-off that a pickup truck loaded with cotton was parked on a paved road near Singhasan Pandey's dilapidated mud house in village Malhar, under Chenari police station limits. A special raiding team was formed under the direction of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Sasaram 1, to verify the information and take necessary action. Upon arriving at the scene, the pickup truck, registration number JH-10CN2746, was found abandoned, covered with a tarpaulin. Upon questioning nearby residents, they confirmed that the vehicle had been parked on the road since the previous night, and no information was provided about its owner or driver. Upon proper inspection, six plastic bags wrapped in plastic tape were found inside. Upon opening the sack, 25 packets of marijuana were found in each sack, totaling 150 packets of marijuana in 6 sacks. Each sack weighed 26 kilograms, making the total quantity of marijuana in the 6 sacks 26 x 6 = 156 kilograms. Its estimated market value is approximately 20 lakh rupees. In this context, Chenari Police Station Case No. 442/2025 dated 14.11.2025 has been registered under Section 8 (c) / 20 (b)(ii) (c) / 22 (c) / 25/29 of the NDPS Act against the vehicle owner/driver and further action is being taken.
