ARA-------------------------An elderly man in Bhojpur complained to the SP, alleging that his son had beaten him and thrown him out of the house. Hearing the elderly man's plight, the SP took immediate action.
During the "Aapke Dwar Janta Darbar" program held at the Town Police Station on Saturday, the situation became emotional when 75-year-old Kanhaiya Prasad, a resident of Yaduvanshi Nagar, arrived with his plight.
He pleaded, "Give us justice, SP Sir. My son beat me and threw me out of the house, forcing me to live in a rented house." The elderly man, who was in government service and now lives on a pension, was evicted from his own home, forcing him to live in a rented house in Shanti Nagar.
After listening to the elderly man's plight, SP Raj ordered the concerned station in-charge to immediately file an FIR. This was the second day of the Janta Darbar held at the police station at the SP level.
The police captain was present at the Town Police Station since 11 am. During this time, more than half a dozen people arrived with complaints, most of which were related to family disputes and land disputes. Station House Officer Devraj Rai and all junior officers were present.
Narayana Prasad, a resident of Rui Gali, arrived with his brothers regarding a land dispute. The SP directed that the three brothers be called to the police station and steps be taken to resolve the dispute.
Sharda Jain of Mahadeva Road alleged that her son had withdrawn money from her account. The SP ordered an investigation into this complaint. Advocate Durgesh Nandan Verma, a resident of Paschim Tola, stated that the opposing party was violating the court order.
The SP also ordered an investigation and action in this matter. Devnath Singh of Nala Mod reported that his grandson gets physically abusive after drinking. He said that the police had sent him to jail, but he did not want to keep him at home. He had come with a plea in this regard.
Julie Devi, a resident of Ramgarhia, complained that her brother-in-law was assaulting her. The SP ordered an immediate investigation. Mansha Devi of Mahadeva reported that her tenant was not paying the outstanding amount. The SP advised her to approach the court regarding this matter.
During the Janta Darbar, the SP also discussed local issues with the ward councilors and their representatives present. Mayor representative Alok Ranjan said that one-way traffic rules should be strictly enforced on Mirganj Road and vegetable unloading times should be fixed in Gola Bazaar to alleviate traffic congestion.
Ward member Munna Mahato stated that the fish and vegetable stalls near Dharhara Bridge in the morning and evening cause inconvenience to residents and raise the risk of accidents. The SP immediately called the Traffic DSP and directed action on both these complaints.
Ward councilor Ranjit Singh complained about the gathering of anti-social elements in the Majhowa School and Maruti Nagar areas, following which the SP directed the concerned police station and Dial 122 to increase surveillance. About a dozen councilors attended the Janta Darbar. The police captain was also honored during the event.
