BUXAR------------------------------A young man was shot and injured in Purana Bhojpur village, under the jurisdiction of the Naya Bhojpur police station, on Sunday midnight. The injured man was returning from the wedding procession after eating a meal when he was shot during an altercation. The bullet struck him near his shoulder. In critical condition, his family took him to a private hospital in Ara for treatment.

The injured man has been identified as Shivam Yadav, 25, son of Yogendra Yadav, a resident of Purana Bhojpur. It is reported that he was returning home after attending a wedding procession in the village when he got into an argument with three to four young men, during which someone shot him.

Naya Bhojpur police station chief Chandan Kumar confirmed the incident and said that the injured man has given the names of the attackers. Police are conducting raids at possible hideouts to arrest the accused. He said that upon receiving information about the incident, the police rushed Shivam to the sub-divisional hospital at around 12:30 a.m., from where he was referred for better treatment.

The station chief stated that the injured person is out of danger. Although the police have not yet received any application from the victim's family, efforts are underway to identify and arrest the accused based on the victim's statement.
