ARA------------------------The signs are not good for the Bharatiya Ranvir Party, recently founded by Chandan Singh, grandson of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya. Meanwhile, public response has made the situation challenging for the Bharatiya Ranvir Party in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Chandan Singh's party was targeting Bhumihar voters, especially in some districts of South Bihar.
Bhojpur: The Bihar Assembly elections have begun. This time, not two but three corners are visible in the Bihar elections. On one side is the NDA, on the other is the Grand Alliance, and on the third is Jansuraj. But beyond these three corners, another party is also eager to enter the electoral fray. Its name is the Bharatiya Ranvir Party. Its founder is Chandan Singh, grandson of the late Brahmeshwar Mukhiya. It is believed that this party will contest the elections with the support of the Bhumihars. The party has even announced that it will contest 65 assembly seats with Bhumihar support.
However, the Bhumihars of Bhojpuri have a different opinion. So let's share the public's opinion about this party. Belaur is a very famous village in Bhojpur district and is known for its Bhumihar population. When the
Local 18 team visited this village and asked whether they would support the Bharatiya Ranvir Party, the Bhumihars clearly said no. They also said that someone who couldn't respect the Mukhiya ji would not protect or honor our community.
It's safe to say that the signs aren't good for the Bharatiya Ranvir Party, recently founded by Chandan Singh, grandson of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya. The public's response has made the situation challenging for the Bharatiya Ranvir Party in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Chandan Singh's party was targeting Bhumihar voters, especially in some districts of South Bihar.
It should be noted that Chandan Singh announced his entry into politics a few days ago and will contest elections under the name of his new party. His team has stated that they plan to field candidates in approximately 65 seats in the state. Chandan Singh also claims that the Bharatiya Ranvir Party's ideology differs from that of the Ranvir Sena, focusing on issues of local security and social justice.
However, some prominent Bhumihar leaders and influential social organizations in Bhojpur have stated at the local level that they are not yet ready to openly support the Bharatiya Ranvir Party. Elders in Belaur village explained that Mukhiyaji (Brahmeshwar Singh) was a unique personality. His speech, his culture, and his behavior were of a different level. Anyone who spoke to him once became his admirer. After his passing, there is no one in his family who can fulfill Mukhiyaji's responsibilities. The practical legacy he left behind has been destroyed by his sons and grandsons. Not a single vote from our community will go to his party.
The name of Ranvir Sena and its founder, Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, is controversially embedded in Bihar's political and social history. While positive memories associated with Mukhiya's leadership are prevalent, the violent incidents continue to have a profound impact on the political and social landscape. This explains the mixed reactions to any new political venture named after him across various sections of society.
Political experts say that if a large section of Bhojpur's Bhumihars and their leadership openly oppose the Bharatiya Ranvir Party, Chandan Singh's party's state-level plans could be questioned, especially in assembly constituencies where Bhumihar votes play a significant role. Furthermore, this development could impact the broader caste and group-based dynamics of the state, potentially benefiting other parties.
It is worth noting that Brahmeshwar Mukhiya named his organization, or army, Ranvir. Popularly known as Baba Ranvir Singh, he was a freedom fighter and a resident of Belaur village in Bhojpur district. He fought against the British and is famous for bringing them to their knees. It was because of his name that Parameshwar Mukhiya named his army after Baba Ranveer.
