WHO IS CHANDAN MISHRA?

PATNA--------------------------On Thursday, fearless criminals shot the notorious Chandan Mishra of Buxar in Paras Hospital, which is counted among the biggest private hospitals of Patna. Two eyewitnesses of this incident told that the criminals entered the hospital with weapons. Seeing the criminal, the people present in the hospital started running here and there. No one could understand anything, at that time neither any policeman nor any security personnel was present in the hospital. The criminals came inside the hospital and shot Chandan Mishra four times.

The incident of shooting the notorious Chandan Mishra, who had come for treatment on parole from jail, is being considered as the result of gang war. Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma told that Chandan Mishra, a dreaded criminal of Buxar district, had dozens of murder cases registered against him and he is also convicted in one case. He was sent from Buxar to Bhagalpur jail. He was given parole as he was undergoing treatment. Probably people from his rival gangs shot him. He has been hit by several bullets. He is currently undergoing treatment. With the help of Buxar police, the gang members are being identified. The shooter's picture has been found. CCTV footage of this firing in the hospital has surfaced in which five criminals enter room number 209 and escape after shooting Chandan Mishra.

After the deadly attack on Chandan Mishra, memories of that famous murder case of Buxar were refreshed in which lime businessman Rajendra Kesari was brutally murdered. Chandan Mishra is the accused in that murder case. On 21 August 2011, lime businessman Rajendra Kesari was shot dead in Buxar for not paying extortion money. In this murder case, the family members of the deceased made notorious criminals Sheru Singh and Chandan Mishra along with some others accused and a case was registered against them. Chandan Mishra and Sheru were arrested from Bengal. When Sheru was presented in the court and the judge was giving the verdict, Sheru saw the opportunity and shot a policeman dead in the court itself and fled. Later he was caught by Ara police. The district court had sentenced Omkarnath Singh alias Sheru to death. However, later the High Court stayed the hanging. Chandan Mishra was sentenced to life imprisonment in the same murder case.

Earlier in 2011 itself, on May 4, a jail employee Haider Imam Warsi was murdered near Dhobighat. Chandan Mishra and Sheru Singh were accused in this case too. In this case, the jailer had given a statement that both of them had threatened to kill him earlier through phone. But this could not be proved in the court. After which both were acquitted. However, due to other cases, they remained in jail.

Sheru and Chandan had committed more than one and a half dozen criminal incidents between 2009 and 2012. The terror of Sheru-Chandan gang did not end even after their arrest. Chandan Mishra continued to execute many murders even while being inside the jail. During the assembly elections, Sheru and Chandan Mishra were shifted from Buxar Central Jail to Bhagalpur Jail in August 2015. Keeping in view the security and elections, they were kept there even after the term ended. So that they could not influence the voters by showing dominance.

Later, many murders continued to take place outside on the orders of Chandan Mishra, who was lodged in the jail. Chandan Mishra's name also cropped up in the murder of Islam Mian in Buxar in 2015. After arresting the accused in this murder case, the then SP of Buxar Upendra Sharma had told that this gang belonged to Chandan Mishra, on whose orders these criminals used to execute the incidents. Chandan Mishra had recently come out of jail on parole. Chandan Mishra, who had gone to Paras Hospital in Patna for treatment, was shot dead by criminals. According to Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma, he was probably shot in a gang war.
