TWO SMUGGLERS ARRESTED WITH TWO RED SAND BOA SNAKES
In an operation, RPF Sasaram apprehended two individuals smuggling two red sand boa snakes.
SASARAM (RNI) In an operation, RPF Sasaram apprehended two individuals smuggling two red sand boa snakes. On Wednesday, RPF Sasaram Inspector Sanjeev Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Dilip Kumar, Head Constable Rakesh Kumar Kanaujia, and Constable Pankaj Kumar Singh were patrolling, checking, and monitoring criminal activity at Sasaram station. Meanwhile, at about 10.40 am, information was received that two persons were going to board a train to Delhi with a red sand boa snake, which was worth lakhs. On the basis of suspicion, two persons were seen dressed as sadhus on platform no. 2. They were stopped and questioned. They gave their names as Dev, age about 21 years, father Naseeb Nath, resident of slum number 20, Okhla Mod, Sapera Basti, Lal Kuan, Badarpur, South Delhi and the other person gave his name as Sanju Nath, age about 47 years, father Kripal Nath, resident of JI Dabur Enclave, Rawat Mod, Jafar Pur Kala, South West Delhi. On further questioning, they could not give any clear reason about the snake found with them. RED SAND BOA SNAKE is a protected animal as per the Wildlife Protection Act, hence both the RED SAND BOA SNAKE were rescued and both the persons along with the recovered RED SAND BOA SNAKE were brought to Railway Protection Force Post Sasaram and the Forest Department was informed about this. Later both the persons were safely handed over to Forest Department Sasaram for further action. The recovered RED SAND BOA snakes are worth lakhs in the international market. Railway Protection Force Post Sasaram is committed towards wildlife conservation along with the safety of railway passengers.
