ARA--------------------The Business Association, Market Committee Complex, Anaith, Ara, held a meeting on Saturday at the Market Committee Complex, where all traders unanimously protested the eviction of the Market Committee Complex in anticipation of the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections.

The traders stated that Chhath Puja, a popular festival of faith, is on October 27th. The district administration had issued a notice to all traders located in the Complex, directing them to vacate their shops and warehouses by October 5th. Failure to vacate the shops and warehouses threatened cancellation of their allotted shops.

After receiving the notice, all traders raised their concerns with the District Magistrate and the Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer, but the District Magistrate and Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer failed to resolve the issue. It is unfair to vacate such a large commercial complex without any alternative arrangements.

The Ara Market Committee supplies fruit to five districts in the state. Traders at the Ara Market Committee have already paid substantial advances to their suppliers and farmers for the Chhath and Diwali pujas. Traders fear losing their money if their business is disrupted. Regarding this, all the traders have met with the district administration and pleaded for help.
