ARA-------------------------The end of democracy in political parties is a serious problem that is weakening Indian democracy. If you observe closely, you will find that the following are common features in every political party:
1. Centralized power or high command: The centralization of power within political parties reduces the participation of ordinary members in the decision-making process.
2. Dynastic politics: The prevalence of dynastic politics within political parties prevents the emergence of new leaders.
3. Lack of internal elections: The lack of internal elections within political parties prevents members from choosing their leaders.
4. Lack of transparency: The lack of transparency within political parties prevents members from accessing information about the decision-making process, and even information about monetary and donation transactions.
5. Lack of accountability: Political parties lack accountability, so leaders cannot be held accountable for their actions.
To address these problems, there is a need to strengthen internal democracy within political parties, which is now largely absent. I believe a Political Election Commission should be established to conduct elections for political parties.
