ARA-------------------------Before the Bihar assembly elections, the central government has given a big gift to the state. Rs 33,464 crore has been approved for NH construction and bridge projects, with which 52 road projects and many bypasses and bridges will be built.
Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year. Before the elections, the Modi government at the Center has started giving money for the pending projects of Bihar. The central government has opened the treasury for many roads and bridges of Bihar stuck for years.
The central government has given a big gift to Bihar. In this financial year i.e. 2025-26, the central government has given 33 thousand 464 crores to Bihar for NH construction in one go. The big thing is that the central government has given about one-third of the proposed budget for road construction in the country to Bihar.
Till now Bihar has been getting barely six-seven thousand crores for the construction of roads and bridges. But this time a big amount has been given. According to the letter issued by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, this money will be used for 52 projects in Bihar. About 875 km of roads will be constructed with this amount. Out of this, 380 km of NH will be upgraded from two lanes to four lanes. Two bridges will also be built on the Gandak river.
The projects of Bihar approved by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways also include the 146 km four-lane road from Mashrakh-Chakia-Bhittha turn on Ramjanaki Marg. Rs 7,300 crore has been approved for this road. A four-lane bridge will be built at Sevrahi in Bettiah under NH 727A on the Gandak river. This bridge will be 11 km long and Rs 1800 crore will be spent on its construction.
The central government has also given money for the construction of a four-lane road between Bettiah and Bagaha. Rs 4300 crore will be spent on this 69 km long project. At the same time, 2300 crore rupees have been given to build a four-lane road from Arwal to Biharsharif.
The central government has given 574 crores for the construction of Arwal bypass, 931 crores for the construction of Daudnagar bypass, 865 crores for the construction of Aurangabad bypass, 320 crores for the construction of Samastipur bypass.
The central government has given 220 crores for the construction of a two-lane road from Samastipur to Darbhanga. On the other hand, 100 crores will be spent on building ROB on NH 83 in Jehanabad. 150 crores will be spent on building ROB on NH 102 while 95 crores will be spent on building ROB between Hathua and Phulwaria.
At the same time, 150 crores will be spent on Dumraon bypass. A 15 km bypass will be built from the new alignment of Valmikinagar project. 3000 crores will be spent on building it. While Rs 200 crore will be spent on building Singheshwar bypass, Rs 500 crore will be spent on building a two-lane road from Sitamarhi to Chiraut.
