ARA---------------------RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Saturday declared himself the CM face of the opposition's India Alliance in Ara. He said this when the fortnight-long 'Voter Rights Yatra' led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is in its final leg. The yatra will conclude on September 1 with a march on the streets of Patna, in which all the leaders of the India Alliance will participate.
Addressing a rally in Ara, Tejashwi accused the Nitish Kumar government of often copying his ideas and called it a copycat government. He accused the Narendra Modi government of doing nothing for Bihar and compared the Prime Minister's promises to paper airplanes.
At the last stop of the yatra in Ara city, Tejashwi questioned the Nitish Kumar government for often copying his ideas and called it a copycat government. He ridiculed the government for copying his ideas and said that currently he is moving ahead while the government is behind him. Rahul had dodged the question on who will be the chief ministerial face of the Indo-Pacific alliance for Bihar during the yatra in Araria on August 25. "Tejashwi ahead, government behind. Do you want original CM or duplicate?" Tejashwi asked the crowd as Rahul and other Indo-Pacific leaders watched him. When the crowd said original CM, Tejashwi asked them to repeat it.
Tejashwi's announcement got a twist when RJD chief Lalu Prasad's daughter Rohini Acharya, who joined the yatra in Saran, from where he lost the Lok Sabha elections 2024, joined the yatra. Rohini was questioned as to why the Congress had not officially projected her brother as the chief ministerial face of the alliance even as the former deputy chief minister had announced that Rahul would be the prime minister after the next parliamentary elections. Rohini had then said that "the marriage has not happened and you people are talking about suhaagraat."
