Raju Kumar alias Raju Kharwar, a member of the State Scheduled Tribes Commission, Bihar, inspected the Chausa Community Health Center (CHC) on Saturday.
During the inspection, he was angered by the prevailing mismanagement, shortage of staff, and lack of facilities at the hospital. He directed that the condition of the health center be improved immediately. The commission member, who arrived in the afternoon,
gathered information from doctors, ASHA, Mamata workers, and sanitation workers about the current situation and challenges at the hospital.
The inspection revealed that several important posts, including those of doctors, obstetricians, GNM, ANM, Mamata, and ASHA workers, have been vacant for a long time, which is affecting health services. He assured that a report would be sent to the government soon regarding the filling of vacant posts and improving the healthcare system. He also expressed displeasure at the cleanliness of the hospital premises, which was found to be below standards.
He strongly objected to the fact that the agency was paying sanitation workers only three thousand rupees as honorarium. He said that the honorarium prescribed by the government should be paid, otherwise action would be taken. The district manager of the agency was also instructed to make immediate improvements. During the inspection, the commission member laid special emphasis on improving health services, providing better facilities to patients, and ensuring compliance with all departmental standards.
