SENIOR IAS APPOINTED AS SECRETARY TO THE VP

DELHI----------------------------Senior IAS officer (retired) Amit Khare has been appointed as Secretary to the Vice President of India. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment. Amit Khare has been given the status and pay scale equal to the post and pay scale of the Secretary of the Central Government. This appointment has been made on the basis of contract, which will be for three years. This period will be considered from the date of taking charge, although the government can change it if required.

Amit Khare is a 1985 batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre. While in the administrative service, he has worked on many important posts. He has also been an advisor to PM Modi. Apart from this, he has served in the Central Government as Information and Broadcasting Secretary and Education Secretary. He played an important role in implementing the Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). He got recognition due to his honest and strict administrative image.

Being a Jharkhand cadre officer, he has had a deep association with Ranchi and many districts of the state. He had also handled important responsibilities in the early years of the formation of Jharkhand.
