ARA--------------------------The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated with enthusiasm and dignity at Patel B.Ed. College on Friday. The event began with the lighting of lamps and the offering of flowers to Sardar Patel's portrait. The campus echoed with slogans of "Vande Mataram" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Jang Bahadur Pandey, former Head of the Hindi Department at Ranchi University, said that Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a great architect of India. His role in the unification of India's 562 princely states was similar to that of Bismarck in the unification of Germany. It was due to Patel's wisdom that the Nizam of Hyderabad was forced to stay in India. Patel is also credited with the victory in the Bardoli peasant movement. Patel was not only the first Home Minister of India but also the architect of the integrity of the country. While presiding over the function, Principal Dr. Vasudev Prasad said that Patel was a man of strong determination and wanted all-round development of India. Principal Dr. Anuradha Kumari gave a grand welcome to the visiting guests, Ashish Singh conducted the programme and Neeraj Kumar Alok gave the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the national anthem in unison, where all the teachers, students and guests were seen filled with the feeling of national pride.
