SADBHAVANA RATH: AN INSPIRATIONAL GLIMPSE OF THE LALU ERA

ARA----------------------------India's democracy has not been limited to elections and governments, but it has also been a live platform for ideas, movements and questions arising in society. In the 1990s, Bihar saw one such historical glimpse, when the Chief Minister of the state rode on a chariot to spread the message of brotherhood and unity among the people. The name of that chariot was - "Sadbhavna Rath".
The pictures of that era inspire even today-the Chief Minister is seen roaming from village to village, street to street, holding a mike in his hand. His words were not slogans, but the soul spoke. It was written in bold letters on the chariot.
This was not just a political journey, but it was the seed of a social revolution. At a time when communal tension was deep in many parts of the country, a voice arose from the land of Bihar that talked about uniting people, not dividing them.
Lalu Prasad Yadav's campaign became a symbol of social justice as well as religious harmony. He proved that the role of a true public leader is not just to hold power, but also to give the right direction to the society.
It was an idea. It was a movement, which said that the strength of this country lies in its diversity. Despite caste, religion, language, and regional differences, we are all one, and will remain so.
Today, when attempts are being made to divide the society ideologically, the memory of such historical initiatives becomes even more relevant. Rashtriya Janata Dal has decided that Lalu Prasad Yadav's birthday will be celebrated as "Sadbhavna Diwas". This is not only a tribute to his contribution, but also an attempt to revive the thought that says - "Give place to love, not hatred."
It is the responsibility of every aware citizen to play his role in maintaining social harmony. It is not enough to depend only on political parties or leaders, but we have to promote love, harmony and humanity at our own level.
Let us make this day not just a memory but a resolution – that we will promote the politics of love, justice and equality, not the politics of hatred.
