SASARAM----------------------------Under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Rohtas Udita Singh, a review of pending cases related to prosecution / speedy trial / judicial aftermath in various courts was done with the prosecution officer / public prosecutor / special public prosecutor / additional public prosecutors in the office room located in the Collectorate. Public Prosecutor, Rohtas, Sasaram told that in the month of June 2025, punishment has been given in the pending cases in the court and old cases are being reopened. In which the case diary is not available and a copy of the order was demanded from all the Additional Public Prosecutors. The District Magistrate has directed that all the Additional Public Prosecutors will submit a copy of the order of the case in which the decision has been given to the Public Prosecutor in charge and in the cases in which the case diary is not available. The Superintendent of Police, Rohtas will prepare a list and submit it to Dehri and the Public Prosecutor was expected to thoroughly review the cases in which release or acquittal has taken place and after review, take action to file an appeal in appealable cases and the Public Prosecutor was directed to collect the monthly report of all Additional Public Prosecutors and make it available to the office. Due to 12937 cases pending with Shri Rameshwar Singh Special Public Prosecutor (Excise Act - Court - 01) Rohtas, Sasaram, the District Magistrate directed that the pending cases should be disposed of immediately and the Superintendent of Police, Rohtas, Dehri directed that the case diary should be demanded by e-mail or letter and due to the report of Excise Act - Court - 02 not being received, it was directed that the concerned Special Public Prosecutor will ensure to make his monthly report available to the Public Prosecutor. During the review in the meeting, it was found that in the month of June 2025, a total of 81 post-mortem reports were prepared by the Civil Surgeon, Rohtas, Sasaram. Out of which 18 postmortem reports were received by the police station, 33 postmortem reports have not been received by the police station, 26 are pending with the doctor and 04 night guard orders are not received. In this regard, the Civil Surgeon, Rohtas Sasaram was directed to make the remaining postmortem reports available to the concerned police station. The injury reports received from the Civil Surgeon, Rohtas, Sasaram were reviewed. During the review, it was found that the injury reports have been handed over to 58 police stations. In the meeting, the District Magistrate, Rohtas, Sasaram directed the Civil Surgeon, Rohtas to ensure that the remaining 45 injury reports are handed over to the concerned police station. During the review of pending cases against the present and former MPs / MLAs, it was found that in the month of June 2025, out of total - 07 pending cases, 03 cases are pending for the presence of the accused. The number of cases pending for evidence testimony is - 04, in which 01 case pending for testimony has been disposed of and 03 are pending for appearance, 03 for testimony. District Magistrate, Rohtas directed District Prosecution Officer, Rohtas, Sasaram to prepare a list of witnesses and ensure to make it available to Superintendent of Police, Rohtas (Dehri) and cooperate for debate and decision in the pending cases of all prosecution officers. During the review in the meeting, it was found that in the cases executed by District Prosecution Officer and all prosecution officers, punishment - 12, total number of accused sentenced - 19 and release - 38, total number of released accused - 112. District Prosecution Officer, Rohtas was directed to cooperate for getting punishment and quick execution in the pending cases of all prosecution officers. In the cases executed by Shri Heera Pratap Singh, Special Public Prosecutor, Rohtas, Sasaram and Smt. Janak Raj Kishori, Special Public Prosecutor, Rohtas, Sasaram (POCSO Act), punishment was found to be 02, number of accused sentenced - 02 and release - 09, number of accused released - 23. The District Officer gave strict direction to identify the pending cases and inform the Public Prosecutor and give proposal for those cases which are released under POCSO Act and are appealable and the Public Prosecutor will provide the monthly report of the last six months for review and the Superintendent of Police directed to prepare a list of the cases in which witnesses are not appearing and submit a copy. During the review, Shri Vinod Kumar Singh, Special Public Prosecutor (SC/ST Act), Rohtas, Sasaram was directed to get the pending cases disposed of expeditiously. During the review of the meeting, it was found that Shri Bindeshwar Singh, Special Public Prosecutor (NDPS), Rohtas, Sasaram was directed to monitor the cases related to NDPS and take prompt action so that the pending cases can be disposed of expeditiously.
