SASARAM---------------------------In the light of the direction of the Election Commission of India, in view of the Assembly General Elections 2025, in order to create awareness among the voters and to make them aware of the working system of EVM, the District Election Officer cum District Magistrate, Rohtas flagged off Mobile Demonstration Van (MDV) from the Collectorate Complex, Sasaram for all the assembly constituencies.

A total of 12 vehicles are being used for seven assembly constituencies. In which one vehicle each is being used in Dehri and Nokha assembly constituencies and two vehicles each in the remaining five assembly constituencies. The EVM trained personnel deputed in these vehicles will demonstrate EVM at least once in all the polling station buildings of the assembly. The purpose of EVM demonstration is to make the general public directly familiar with the use and working system of EVM and VVPAT so that there is no confusion about the voting process and voters can vote with confidence. A special purpose of this initiative is to provide ease in voting process to the youth, women and senior citizens who are voting for the first time. It has been seen many times that due to lack of knowledge of technical process, voters feel hesitant at the polling booth, but the trained personnel available in the VAN will give live demonstration of the entire process from pressing the button of EVM to viewing the VVPAT slip.

The demonstration of EVM will be done by Mobile Demonstration Van (MDV) only in polling station buildings and voter literacy clubs, from the point of view of security, it will not be demonstrated in crowded places like market, haat. Prior information of the demonstration will be given to the local people by BLO.

The District Election Officer said that this initiative will increase the confidence of voters and they will be able to exercise their franchise without any fear on the polling day.

The District Election Officer said that for strengthening democracy, only increase in the number of voters is not enough, but it is also necessary that every voter understands the transparency of the voting process and the reliability of technology. He clarified that EVM and VVPAT are completely safe and reliable systems, in whose technical structure any kind of tampering is not possible.

He said that if voters are well acquainted with the functioning of the machine, then they will be able to vote fearlessly at the polling booth. This training is the most effective way to remove technical fears and instill confidence in voters.
