ARA-----------------------------Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp in the local BS DAV Public School. On this occasion, Principal Nishu Jaiswal hoisted the flag. Thereafter, various types of cultural programs were presented by the children of the school.

The Principal welcomed the students and their parents present in the school premises and congratulated them on Independence Day. In her address, the Principal said that this occasion of celebration of independence makes us aware of our responsibilities more than our freedom. The respect for this celebration of independence will increase only when every citizen of India discharges his duties and responsibilities honestly. The value of freedom in school life increases further when moral values like discipline and dedication are added to the students. She told the students that the freedom which has given you equality and availability of opportunity expects from you that you achieve new heights in life with your hard work, dedication, honesty and loyalty. Only then will the dignity of our home, family, society and nation increase along with you.

On this occasion, a fancy dress competition of the students of class Nursery, LKG, UKG was seen. The children charmed the audience by dressing up as freedom fighters, social-cultural warriors one after the other. Children from class V to VIII presented songs, music, dance and speeches in different groups. The children displayed their talent and dedication in these patriotic programs. The cultural programs were skilfully conducted by Sakshi Sharma, a student of class VIII and her assistant. Senior teacher Abhishek Kumar thanked the guests and parents.
