ARA-------------------------Jawania village of Shahpur block was greatly affected by the flood and many houses have been submerged in the Ganges. The government and voluntary organizations are continuously cooperating in this natural disaster. For these flood victims, a team of officials from Red Cross Society Bhojpur district unit went to the affected site with relief material and distributed relief material among the people.

Tarpaulin sheets were distributed to 50 affected families so that they can get help in making huts, utensils, buckets, mugs, sheets, mosquito nets, torches and soaps and some other items used in daily life. Prof. Nilambuj Singh and Prof. Dr. Lakshmi Kumari were involved in the distribution of relief material while Deputy Patron of Indian Red Cross Society Lal Das Rai, former MLC and former Vice Chairman Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh made their special contribution. Professor Nilambuj and Dr. Lakshmi played a special role in collecting these materials from this disaster as a support from the Red Cross district unit. Volunteers of the Red Cross district unit played an important role in the program and went around identifying the affected people and distributed material among them. Their names were as follows - Achal ji, Prabhat Mishra, Manoj Shah, Rajesh Singh, Kumar Sagar, Vikas Kumar and Shantanu were prominent. The entire program was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Vibha Kumari, Secretary of the Red Cross district unit, who was personally present.
