ARA--------------------------The goods warehouse built at Kulhadia station under Danapur Railway Division has not yet been shifted from Ara Junction. Due to this, the traders of Kulhadia area are suffering losses. Many traders are renting warehouses there and paying rent for empty warehouses, while in the railway records, Kulhadia goods warehouse is shown as operational.

According to the letter issued by Subodh Kumar, Chief Commercial Manager of Hajipur Zone, the goods warehouse built in Kulhadia was given a "full fit" certificate from 12 September 2023. According to railway sources, the last rack of sand was loaded from here in the year 2024, after which loading was stopped due to pressure from sand mafia and strictness of the mining department.

In this regard, a meeting of PWI, technical team and other officials of Ara railway station was held in Danapur. At present, due to lack of platforms at Ara Junction, passengers are facing a lot of trouble. Train operations are disrupted due to lack of platform near the goods warehouse.

In the year 2019 itself, the officials were instructed to prepare a proposal to build new platforms (numbers 5 and 6) in place of the goods warehouse. This platform will be developed in the name of “1A” and “1B”. According to railway sources, this work will be completed under the ‘Gati Shakti’ scheme, which will include washing pit, washing of trains, maintenance and other facilities.

The railway administration had planned to remove the goods warehouse of Ara Junction and shift it to Kulhadia, so that the way for construction of platform for the convenience of passengers at Ara station could be cleared. Traders have been demanding proper facility of loading and unloading of goods in Ara for a long time.

According to the officials of Danapur Division, the plan to build two new platforms at Ara station is ready. Currently there are four platforms at the station, while the number of trains is increasing continuously. Therefore, keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, two additional platforms will be built near the washing pit.

The goods warehouse will be demolished and new construction work will be done, the work of measuring and marking the land has also been completed. This will facilitate the operation of trains leaving from Ara station and passengers will be able to catch trains from platform 1A and 1B on the lines of metro.
