PATNA---------------------------The newly constructed cyber operation hall in the Cyber ​​Bhawan located in the Economic Offenses Unit was inaugurated by Director General of Police Vinay Kumar. On this occasion, EOU ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan, DIG (Cyber) Sanjay Kumar, DIG (EOU) Manavjit Singh Dhillon, Superintendent of Police Amresh D, Vinay Tiwari, Rajesh Kumar, Pankaj Kumar and other senior officials were present. All cyber officials were addressed through video conferencing (VC).

On this occasion, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar, as the chief guest, praised the recent achievements against cyber crime and said that the confidence of the general public towards the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) has increased. The EOU has worked to encourage the common people to report cyber crimes, earlier there was a perception that reporting is futile. DGP Vinay Kumar further said that the organizational structure has been strengthened in terms of both manpower and technical resources from headquarters to local police stations.

The DGP explained how the identity of crime has changed in the last 30-35 years, where local gangs are now connected to international networks, which shows the far-reaching reach of cyber criminals. Criminals keep innovating constantly, which requires law enforcement agencies to stay ahead. DGP Vinay Kumar praised the achievements of the EOU, especially the action taken in the SIM box case, digital arrest. He mentioned a gang caught in Motihari which had driving licenses of Mexico and Ukraine and was running scams across the world by creating lakhs of Gmail accounts. DGP Vinay Kumar gave certificates and prize money to 46 officers and employees including 17 DSPs, 12 inspectors, 5 SIs of EOU for doing commendable work.

ADG of EOU Nayyar Hasnain Khan said that this is a proud day for the unit, remarkable achievements have been made in various fields and the quality of investigation has improved. The EOU team has arrested criminals by going to other states and EOU has taken concrete steps towards getting them punished. DIG Manavjit Singh Dhillon said that cases related to fraud of 147 crores were registered on helpline 1930. In this, EOU took immediate action and put 30 crores on hold and returned 3.34 crores to the victims.
