ARA---------------------------In view of Muharram, a festival symbolizing love, brotherhood and communal harmony, an important meeting of the District Peace Committee was held today in the Collectorate Auditorium, Ara. This meeting was jointly chaired by District Magistrate-cum-District Officer Mr. Tanay Sultania and Superintendent of Police Bhojpur.

In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on tight preparation of law and order to celebrate the upcoming festival in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. The District Magistrate clarified that strict legal action will be taken against those who try to spoil social harmony or spread rumors. He said that pre-inspection of Muharram procession routes will be done and cleanliness of the routes, drinking water at main intersections, availability of ambulances, repair of electric wires, medical team in hospitals and availability of life-saving medicines will be ensured.

Superintendent of Police Bhojpur said that anti-social and unruly elements will be identified and their names will be registered in the police station's goonda register, and they will be monitored.

Sub-divisional officer, sub-divisional police officer, all police station in-charges, members of peace committee and other concerned officers were present in the meeting. The administration assured prompt action on all the points raised by the peace committee.

The administration's clear intention is that the festival of Muharram should be celebrated with complete peace, security and mutual brotherhood, so that the example of Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb and unity of Bhojpur district remains intact.
