PCC ROAD IN SHAHPUR BLOCK BROKEN WITHIN SIX MONTHS

ARA--------------------------A case of poor road construction has come to light in Ward-01 of Shahpur Nagar Panchayat under Bhojpur district. Local people have alleged huge irregularities in road construction, in which standards have been ignored by the departmental contractor. Due to poor construction, the road has broken down at many places within six months. There is a lot of dissatisfaction among the local people. Local people are considering it as the result of collusion between the JE of the Nagar Panchayat and the contractor.

Estimation board not installed: Before the construction of the road, the contractor has not installed the Estimation Board, due to which important information like the name of the project, cost details and time limit has not been made public. This shows the lack of transparency.

Low quality construction: The thickness of this road in a densely populated area should have been 6 inches, but the contractor has done casting of only one and a half to two inches. Due to this poor construction, the road has broken down at many places within six months.

Negligence of Nagar Panchayat: People allege that all this is the result of irregularities committed by the Nagar Panchayat. When the JE (Junior Engineer) of the Nagar Panchayat was called, he did not pick up the phone, which has caused further discontent among the people.

There is great discontent among the local people due to poor road construction and negligence of the Nagar Panchayat. They are considering this irregularity as the result of collusion between Shahpur Nagar Panchayat and the contractor. People say that immediate investigation and appropriate action is required in this matter so that such irregularities can be prevented in future.
