ONE YOUTH WAS BEATEN TO DEATH

PATNA---------------------------A case of a young man being beaten to death over a love affair has come to light in Izarta village, under the jurisdiction of the Paliganj police station in Patna.

The deceased has been identified as Sonu Kumar, the 20-year-old son of Basant Manjhi. Police have arrested one accused and begun questioning them. Meanwhile, the family members of the young woman involved in the incident have fled their homes, and the police are actively searching for them.

SDPO Paliganj stated that early Monday morning, information was received that some people were beating a young man in the Manjhi Tola of Izarta village. Police arrived at the scene, rescued the injured youth from the villagers' clutches, and sent him to Palaganj PHC for first aid. He was later referred to the Prime Minister's Medical College (PMCH) due to his critical condition, but died on the way.

DSP-1 Rajiv Chandra Singh stated that the incident appears to be a love affair. Late at night, the youth allegedly entered a house in the village, where the residents caught him and brutally beat him. DSP-1 stated that the accused family has been absconding since the incident, but police are conducting frequent raids on their hideouts.
