DELHI--------------------------Nuclear blackmail won't work: India issues stern warning to Pakistan at UN Ajay Tyagi 2025-09-27 10:18:57 International First Secretary of India's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Petal Gehlot Learn more Vehicles Software Windows 11 Applications Software Apps Microsoft Windows Hardware Applications Computers Windows 10 The UN General Assembly stage once again witnessed a heated debate between India and Pakistan. When Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in his speech, leveled baseless accusations against India while concealing "terrorism" and made ridiculous claims of victory, India exercised its right of reply and held him accountable. India not only exposed the terrorism at the heart of Pakistan's foreign policy but also sent a clear message that it will not tolerate terrorism under the guise of nuclear blackmail and will hold both terrorists and their sponsors accountable. Victory or destruction? India's sharp satire: First Secretary of India's Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Petal Gehlot, mocked Shahbaz Sharif's claim of "victory." Sharif had claimed that Pakistan had won the war against India. Gehlot retorted, "If destroyed runways and burnt hangars resemble victory, as the Prime Minister claimed, then Pakistan is free to enjoy it." This comment referred to the destruction caused by the Indian Army to Pakistani air bases during Operation Sindoor, images of which are publicly available. The truth behind the "begging" for a ceasefire: Shahbaz Sharif presented a "bizarre account" of the end of the conflict in May. India rejected this, clarifying that Pakistan was threatening further attacks on India until May 9, but the situation changed after Indian forces inflicted heavy damage on several Pakistani air bases on May 10. Then, Pakistan's Director General of Military Operations, Major General Kashif Abdullah, directly called his Indian counterpart, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, and pleaded for a ceasefire. Rejecting the threat of nuclear blackmail, India categorically warned Pakistan that it would not allow terrorism to be fueled under the guise of nuclear blackmail. Gehlot firmly stated that "India will never bow to such threats." He described terrorism as a "central" element of Pakistan's foreign policy and stated that there would be no distinction between terrorists and their sponsors, as both would be held accountable. India's message to the international community is clear: there must be "zero tolerance" towards terrorism. Exposing the glorification of terrorism, India exposed Pakistan's terrorist character, stating that its lies and drama cannot conceal the facts. Gehlot referred to Pakistan's actions in the Security Council on April 25th in shielding the Pakistani-sponsored terrorist group, The Resistance Front (TRF), which claimed responsibility for the massacre of 26 Hindu and Christian tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, he recalled that Pakistani ministers have recently publicly admitted that they have been running terrorist camps for decades. Third-party mediation rejected In his speech, Shahbaz Sharif credited US President Donald Trump for "facilitating" the ceasefire, which India strongly protested. India reiterated its long-standing national position that any outstanding issues between India and Pakistan will be resolved bilaterally. Gehlot made it clear that there is no place for any third party in this regard, thereby ruling out the possibility of any international mediation.
