ARA---------------------------Bihar, which was once considered a symbol of social evils and backwardness, is today creating a new history in the field of women empowerment. The recently started "Mahila Samvad" program has made it clear that the women of the state are no longer limited to their homes, but they have become partners in the transformation of both society and governance.

More than 90 lakh women have participated in this dialogue program, which started on 18 April 2025. They not only put their problems before the government, but also suggested solutions. This participation is proof that there has been an unprecedented awakening of self-confidence and consciousness among women.

This dialogue is not just a formal program, but it is becoming a social movement. Women from both rural and urban areas are participating equally in it. Women are raising their voices on many issues like education, health, employment, women's safety, nutrition, cleanliness, prohibition of liquor and participation in panchayats.

This assertiveness of women is no less than a revolution. It is not just a demand for their rights but also an acceptance of responsibilities. Women now want participation in policy making, they want to be the creators of policies rather than the recipients.

The effort of the state government is commendable that it is not considering Nari Shakti as just an election issue but is giving it a central point of the society. Samvad has been taken to the ground through women self-help groups, panchayat representatives, Anganwadi workers, teachers and health workers.

Today the women of Bihar are doing self-employment, running startups, leading panchayats and giving direction to the family as well as the society. This scene seemed impossible till a few years ago, but the government's schemes, awareness campaigns and the self-confidence of women have made it possible.

Initiatives like Mahila Samvad are empowering Bihar not only economically or physically but also socially. This program can become a model, which can be adopted by other states as well.

"We are empowered, we are aware and now we are also the pivot of development.
