District Joint Secretary Vishal Kumar said, "Engineers, clerks, and all contract workers have been on strike since August 16th. During the protest at the BJP office, they were directly hit on the head with batons, breaking their heads. 16 stitches have been needed." CPI (ML) General Secretary Dipankar G. arrived at the protest site to protest the dismissal of 7,480 workers and support the movement. Six young men who had been on a hunger strike for 15 days were given juice and urged to accelerate the movement. Dipankar Ji declared that every tear and drop of blood shed on the streets of Patna would be avenged. Bihar would be shut down to demand the immediate reinstatement of the 7,480 dismissed employees and to protest against police repression.
Leaders present in the statewide protest included RYA District President Niranjan Keshari, District Joint Secretary Vishal Kumar, Agiaon Coordinator Akhilesh Gupta, Amit Yadav, Ranjeet Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar, Roshan Kushwaha, Sagar Paswan, Jitendra Yadav, Ramesh Yadav, Rajesh Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Paramatma Yadav, Veerbahar Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and others.
