NDA ANNOUNCES ‘KARPOORI THAKUR KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI’ SCHEME FOR FARMERS

PATNA-------------------------The NDA has made a major announcement in its manifesto for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, focusing on farmers. The alliance has announced the 'Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi' scheme, under which farmers in the state will receive an additional ₹3,000 annually. Currently, under the central government's PM Kisan Yojana, farmers receive ₹6,000 annually. With the implementation of this new scheme, Bihar farmers will receive a total of ₹9,000 annually.

The NDA manifesto released in Patna highlights agriculture as the central focus of the state's development. Under the 'Karpoori Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi', farmers will receive ₹3,000 directly into their bank accounts.

The manifesto also promises to ensure the purchase of major crops like paddy, wheat, pulses, and maize at the MSP (Minimum Support Price) at the Panchayat level, ensuring farmers receive a fair price for their crops.

This scheme is named after socialist leader and Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur, who is known as the messiah of farmers and the poor. This NDA announcement will directly impact approximately 15 million farmers in the state.

Agriculture is considered the backbone of Bihar's economy, and the farmer community is a major vote bank influencing political equations. Experts believe that while the additional assistance of Rs 3,000 may seem small, its psychological and economic impact on the rural economy could be significant.

According to political analysts, this move by the NDA is part of a strategy to woo the farmer community in the upcoming elections. In an agriculture-dominated state like Bihar, this announcement can not only be called populist, but it can also strengthen the economic security and confidence of rural voters.
