MLA RAHUL TIWARI DISCUSSED THE PROBLEMS OF PEOPLE

ARA---------------------After visiting Jawainiya village under Bhojpur district, Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari discussed in detail the problems of the people affected by the erosion of the Ganges river. Mainly important issues like electricity, drinking water and rehabilitation remain a big challenge for the erosion victims. He said that 11,000 power wire is available on the dam and a transformer is needed here which should be installed immediately so that everyone can get electricity, because in the dark there is a danger of creatures like snakes and scorpions. He has talked to the officials in this regard and he has been assured of a solution in three days.

He told that his workers are installing hand pumps at the places where people have settled. He also clarified that along with the PHED department, he is also installing hand pumps from his MLA fund, especially at those places where the PHED department is not working or is not installing hand pumps at the right place.

The MLA also raised questions on the langar running near Damodarpur village. He said that this langar is not being run at the right place, as Damodarpur is not in the erosion affected area and no displaced people live here. He called it a waste of public money and a “tamasha”. He suggested that the langar should be shifted to the dam where the actual erosion victims are taking shelter, or else another langar should be arranged on the dam. He alleged that the langar near Damodarpur is being run only to please a former MLA and the erosion victims are not getting any benefit from it.

The MLA pointed out a major problem regarding compensation. He said that distribution of compensation in joint families is a challenge, especially in cases where the head of the family or his wife has passed away and the children are living separately. He said that he would talk to the District Magistrate so that families living separately can also get compensation.

The MLA stressed the need for rehabilitation of Jawaniya village. He said that until the victims get land and government facilities, they will not leave from there. He appealed to the Chief Minister and the Minister in charge to visit the village so that they can see the ground reality. He alleged that no minister of the government has come to Jawania yet. He also said that no one listens to the BJP leaders and former MLA here.

The MLA accused the current government of inaction. He said that despite raising voice continuously in the House, in 2023 the government had claimed that there was no erosion, while in 2024 59 houses merged into the river Ganga. He also alleged that the situation has worsened due to the cutting and selling of sand from the village, due to which poor people have been affected.

MLA Rahul Tiwari appealed to all political parties, social workers and industrialists to unite for the rehabilitation of Jawania village by naming MP, former MP, former MLA and former MP Meena Singh, Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh, Legislative Councilor Radha Charan Sah. He said that everyone should help by rising above politics. He himself took the initiative and said that he would be the first person in the rehabilitation committee to donate money for purchasing land and settling the victims.
