BUXAR------------------------The Ballia-Dumraon-Dehri Rail Line Construction Struggle Committee submitted a detailed memorandum to Dumraon MLA Rahul Kumar Singh on Monday regarding the increasing lack of railway facilities and passenger problems at Dumraon station. The memorandum was handed over to the MLA under the leadership of the committee's founder and general secretary, Umesh Gupta Rauniyar, with the request that it be forwarded to the Railway Minister, the General Manager of Railways, and other concerned officials.
The committee mentioned in the memorandum that Dumraon is an emerging industrial area, where several companies are operating under the Nawanagar Economic Zone, and many new companies are about to be established. In addition, three battalions of the Bihar Special Armed Police - 4, 18, and MPTC - are located here, with approximately four thousand trainees present throughout the year and a continuous movement of about ten thousand police personnel.
The committee stated that considering the growing importance of Dumraon station, the agricultural university, Navodaya Vidyalaya, the proposed medical college, the Shaktipeeth Maa Dumrejini Temple, Banke Bihari Temple, Raja Bhoj Fort, and other tourist destinations, the need for train stoppages has increased even more. It was stated that Dumraon is the highest revenue-generating station on the Ara-Buxar rail section, yet it still lacks adequate facilities.
The memorandum demands the resumption of six pairs of trains that were stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as regular stoppages at Dumraon station for several important trains—Patna-Kota Express, Danapur-Secunderabad Express, Sanghamitra Express, Mumbai Janata Express, Patliputra-LTT Express, Danapur-Pune Express, Anand Vihar Jansadharan Express, Kumbh Express, Amrit Bharat Express, Upasana Express, and Seemanchal Express. It also includes a demand for the extension of the Ara-Ranchi Express and Katihar-Patna Intercity trains to Buxar. The committee also emphasized the need for immediate action on the proposed Ballia-Dumraon-Dehri rail line. After receiving the memorandum of demands, MLA Rahul Kumar Singh said that these demands should have been fulfilled a long time ago. He assured that he would raise these issues on a priority basis so that the common people could get relief from the problems they are facing.
Several members were present during the submission of the memorandum, including Kamlesh Kumar, Vice President of the struggle committee, Ajay Chand Lodhi, Dheeraj Kumar Sharma, Deputy Secretary Bharat Sonar, Mohan Jaiswal, Bishoka Nand Chand, and Ajay Mishra.
